NEW ALBUM "DON'T DISTURB THIS GROOVE" TO BE RELEASED MAY 25, 2011
FINALLY, a new album. Yes, the release dates been changed. Was supposed to be the 11th, but some problems with the pressings. And even though I swore I wasn't going to do another cover album so soon after my last one ("My Ever Changing Moods" 2007), here we are just 4 years later. But sometimes projects just happen, as is the case with this one. What started as two individually commissioned covers for Grand Gallery label's compilations (first was Stevie Wonder's "As," then came Brand New Heavies' "You Are the Universe"), label head Yasushi Ide asked if I'd like to round them off with a whole album of covered works and the project slowly grew into what is now "Don't Disturb This Groove." Freshly mixed and mastered, May 11 will see its release in Japan, and no doubt the online shops known for their CD imports will also make them available to their customers outside Japan. Tracks include "I Know You, I Live You" (Chaka Khan), "Best of My Love" (The Emotions), "I Can't Help It" (Michael Jackson), "Ooh La La La" (Teena Marie), "Don't Disturb This Groove" (The System), "Um Amigo" (Azymuth), "Dreams of Tomorrow" (Marilyn Scott), and "No Woman No Cry" (Bob Marley). So far I'm getting great feedback -- hope you'll get it and enjoy!
