1993 release from SPV, a double live album featuring 20 tracks recorded live at the Belly Up Tavern at Solana Beach in California, on May 10th, 1993. Includes many of Burdon's hits with War & the Animals. Burdon's vocals are gutty, raw and funky as you can get. He's tremendous!! Brian flat gets down with some great solos. Fantastic guitar work. I rank it with Edgar Winter's Roadwork and Bob Seger's 'Live Bullit' albums for kick-butt energy and showmanship. Sure it's mainly old Animal songs but they were never performed like this before. WOW!!!

Captain Beefheart was an American musician, singer-songwriter and artist best known by the stage name Captain Beefheart. His musical work was conducted with a rotating ensemble of musicians called The Magic Band, active between 1965 and 1982, with whom he recorded 12 studio albums. Noted for his powerful singing voice with its wide range, Van Vliet also played the harmonica, saxophone and numerous other wind instruments.
