Don Braden (b. November 20, 1963) is an American jazz tenor saxophonist. Braden was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He began playing tenor sax at age 13 and started playing professionally at 15. As a high schooler he played in the McDonald's All-American High School Jazz Band.

Don Pasquale is one of the few Donizetti operas that seem never to have dropped out of favor (along with Lucia, Elisir damore, and to a lesser extent, Fille du regiment). In todays operatic world, when many of my colleagues find my tastes ringard (impossible to translate, with a combination of old-fashioned and corny coming closest), I can only say that this production was singularly enjoyable, following both the letter and the spirit of the work. Unlike other productions I have seenwhere Norina was constantly hammering at Pasquale so that the slap went for nothing when it finally occurred, or recently where act I took place at an outdoor cafe with enormous crowds so that all intimacy was lost, and where Ernesto had to sing his cabaletta while brushing his teetheverything was in its place and allowed the music to come through. The 13th volume in Mosaic's limited-edition Select series showcases the late work of the late pianist and composer Don Pullen. Contained within the box are the two fine albums by the George Adams-Don Pullen Quartet, Breakthrough and Song Everlasting. These two recordings were the first the pair had done domestically. The band's previous output was released on Soul Note, and musically very good. Both Blue Note albums are simply stunning. The interplay between the pianist and saxophonist Adams was near symbiotic and was augmented by the stellar rhythm section of bassist Cameron Brown and drummer Dannie Richmond. Three of the four men -- excepting Brown -- were alumni of the Charles Mingus band. These two albums are the best of what post-bop jazz had to offer in the 1980s.
