This is triple CD package Legendary San Francisco based jam band-s studio, rehearsal out-takes & live material.They were considered one of the leading acts on the city-s psychedelic scene in the mid-to-late 1960s, which is where a lot of this material has come from. Much of it recorded during legendary shows at The Fillmore Auditorium, Fillmore East, live at Winterland in 1970 & at the Old Mill Tavern. As well as epic live recordings there are also a host of previously unheard studio out-takes from session prior to the release of their ground-breaking debut album.Quicksilver Messenger Service sounded like a blend of early Byrds, the Flying Burrito Brothers, and the Grateful Dead, but almost constant personnel changes kept them from truly evolving into what they could have been.
